Summer Fun at the Household Cavalry Museum
Take part in a fun detective trail and family quiz and find out about all sorts of unusual and interesting things to do with the Household Cavalry. Runs from Monday 26 July until the end of August. Certificates awarded to all those who successfully complete the trail and quiz.
Craft activities – Mon 2 – Fri 6 August and Mon 9 – Fri 13 August at 11.30am
Get creative with fun craft sessions based on the fascinating stories of the Household Cavalry and our famous horses. You can also discover the story of Charles II and his involvement with the Regiment and even have a go at making your own Regimental buttons and banners
Suitable for 5-11year-olds. Lasts approx 1hour
Storytelling sessions inside the museum on Tuesdays 3, 10, 17 and 24 August at 2.30pm. Hear about the fascinating adventures of the famous Household Cavalry horses and the troopers who look after them including why Paddy, the drum horse, changed his name to Cicero and discover Freddy’s special secret from the Boer War. Suitable for 7-11 year-olds. Phone to book a place. Lasts approx 45 minutes
Please note that craft activities and storytelling are free for pre-booked children with an accompanying paying adult. A small charge will be made towards the cost of craft materials.
