In The Foothills of The Hindu Kush
The Household Cavalry Regiment has been heavily commited to operations throughout Helmand, Southern Afghanistan since 2006, conducting long-range reconnaissance, security and stabilisation tasks. The painting depicts a reconnaissance patrol from HCR taking a short halt before last light, in an area typical of northern Helmand, near the key town of Musa Q'aleh. The scene shows a mixed patrol equipped with a variety of vehicles and weapons systems used by the Regiment including the Scimitar and Spartan CVR(T) and the Jackel1.
This limited edition print was created by the artist Stuart Brown. Stuart was formally trained in illustration before joining a busy commercial design studio. A series of major clients, including agencies of the UK MoD have provided a continuous flow of of involved and challenging projects over a period of 15 years.
